The construction company HERREÑA FRONPECA S.L. was created in 1982 in Frontera, El Hierro, one of the Canary Islands. FRONPECA participates in all types of construction, including civil and residential building, and has participated in several projects which were instrumental in developing the region. A few of its projects include the Hotel Spa at the Pozo de la Salud in 1983 and the Frontera Wine Headquarters in 1984. A few years later in 1987, FRONEPCA opened the first asphalt plant in El Hierro in Valverde. FRONPECA was also a pioneer in the implantation of the technology of mixing hot bitumen and contributed to changing paving methods from discontinuous macadam to continuous mixes. |

|
| In 1988, FRONPECA expanded to Tenerife, opening an auxiliary company, TINERFEÑA FRONPECA SL. The company has received important construction and maintenance contracts for grade schools, high schools and industrial warehouses as well as a contract for the expansion and maintenance of the Canarian Brewery Company plants, the insular government and several city halls. |
In the nineties, realizing that technology is important for growth and to support infrastructures, FRONPECA created concrete plants, aggregates processing plants and quarries to extract materials using a system of controlled explosions, modernized its asphalt plant, and expanded its machinery fleet. They also were involved in several large projects including: the creation of a runway for the airport in El Hierro, a tunnel under the before mentioned runway, nursing homes, schools and residences. |
|
In 2000, the company was awarded a 42 million euro contract to build the Los Roquillos tunnel that connects Valverde and Frontera. At this time, the company’s administrative structure was modernized and four divisions were created: Residential, Civil, Industrial and Development. |
The creation of these divisions consolidated the company and allowed for expansion of FRONPECA on a national level in the providences of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas, Madrid, Logroño, and Gijón and internationally with projects in Latin America, Western Africa and Eastern Europe.

| Because diversification is part of its approach to growth, FRONPECA has produced infrastructures for several sectors of the economy including the service industry, air transportation, recycling, wine industry, nursing homes and hotels. This year it has begun constructing four star hotels in both Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Bogotá. |
HERREÑA FRONPECA S.L. is committed to sustainable development and makes it its mission to find the equilibrium between construction and respecting the environment. This philosophy helps them to promote the general good while helping to create infrastructures that are the impetus of development.
